Tribeč Museum in Topoľčany

History, archaeology, museum and natural science loves will find something to satisfy their appetites during a visit to the Tribeč Museum in Topoľčany, which was established in 1961. Since its opening, the museum has built up a collection of 81,500 artefacts. Among the most important items in the museum include the fossilized remains of a mastodon's jaw with tusks, a find that is unique to Slovakia and Europe itself. The museum also has a permanent exhibition focused on the nature of central Ponitria, which exhibits the mineral wealth as well as typical examples of the plants and wildlife found in the region as well as the previously mentioned mastodon's jaw with tusks. In addition to the permanent exhibition, visitors also enjoy an ever-changing range of thematic exhibitions, seminars, creative workshops and other events.
